Spontaneity at its finest

This was probably one of my most favorite trips I have ever been on. My friends and I were enjoying a game night when we got bored and were trying to figure out where to go and what to do, until our friend Tilly said that we should go on a side quest. Soon the idea of South Dakota was brought up and we all just looked at each other and said, “ok!” Within 30 minutes, we were all packed and on our way to the Badlands at 11:30 pm. After driving through the night, we arrived to a very foggy view at sunrise. We decided to visit the infamous Wall Drug and then hiked for a few hours before heading back to Ames. The total trip was under 24 hours!
